Many people contain referenced Strung Out, Burning Water Music, Propagandhi, and Strike Anywhere as the band's similar artists. Their person's name is a reference to the Wilhelm scream, a famous stock sound result which mainly is used in films. The group before went by the names Smackin' Isaiah plus Koen. The cause for the name changes is unknown.

Recently A Wilhelm Scream were in the studio at the Blasting Space in Fortification Collins Colorado with legendary punk producer Bill Stevenson, and finished footage the new album.
