A Camp was shaped during The Cardigans' break after several years of on the road and recording albums, the last of which was, at the time, Gran Turismo. The debut was recorded once by means of Niclas Frisk of Atomic Swing before she teamed up with Blot to rerecord it. In doing so he also contributed some new songs to the book.
