Although the band's unique lineup mostly played apolitical punk rock audience, the reformed lineup became increasingly associated by means of the pallid power skinheadsubculture.

By the time of Stuart's death in a 1993 car crash, Skrewdriver was known intended for its role in developing the Astound Against Communism group. Skrewdriver was formed as of the ashes of Plummeting Dice (a cover group who played songs by The Rolling Gravel, Free and The Who). At first, Skrewdriver had a punk picture, and they experimented with their look before eventually adopting a skinhead image. The band had a reputation intended for attracting violence at their concerts (Move up and down Geldof was reportedly knocked unconscious at one Skrewdriver show), but they did not openly promote some following views.

Although together Skrewdriver and the group Sham 69 had skinhead followings and racist fans early in their careers, Skrewdriver failed to get the similar mainstream promotion so as to Sham 69 did. Unlike Skrewdriver, Sham 69 denounced their racist fans, plus still performed at Astound Against Racism concerts. Following the original Skrewdriver array parted ways in 1979, Stuart reformed the band plus began to write songs for a white power skinhead spectators. The new account of Skrewdriver openly promoted far right groups such as the National Face and Combat 18, raising funds for them (and affiliated organizations) through their White Sound Records label.

As a result, Skrewdriver became known for its involvement in the white nationalist following group and its associated melody genre, Astound Next to Communism. Stuart became leader of two other bands, Pallid Rhombus plus The Klansmen, and he released several solo albums. The length of by means of Skrewdriver guitarist Stigger, he recorded the albums Loyal Ballads volumes 1 plus 2, which included covers of traditional folk songs such as The Emerald Fields of France. Donaldson was one of the principal organisers of a white power concert near Waterloo position in London in 1992. In July 1993, Donaldson plus Skrewdriver played their last concert in Waiblingen, Germany.

Voigt. Donaldson died in 1993 in a deadly car mishap in Derbyshire. Female vocalist Saga released three Tribute to Skrewdriver albums after his death, plus Skrewdriver is still one of the most covered bands within the white power music scene.
