It tells the story of a man who sells his soul to the devil in arrange to return to his true love on Soil, other than he almost immediately discovers so as to she is married to his own best pal. He is left completely alone in the earth, and although he has good in, he is influenced by dim forces. Everything that he needs is denied, even his possess death.

The bulk of the songs on the album are short, organization no longer than 4 notes in length, except intended for the last four songs which all clock in over four notes. Most of the song structures are a great deal simpler and more straightforward than persons on the previous Refrigerated Earth albums. Many fans note the improved vocal range of guide singer Dull Barlow, who had taken singing lessons after the release of Burnt Offerings. This is also the first Refrigerated Earth album featuring drummer Blot Prator, and the last novel let go featuring bassist Dave Abell.
