For the foodstuff business, see Calexico carne asada. casadecalexico. Its two main members are Joey Burns and John Convertino, who first played together in Los Angeles as part of the collection Giant Sand.
Their musical style is influenced by customary sounds of Mexico and the Southwestern United States, plus they have been described by some as indie astound. The band is named for the border municipality of Calexico, California. Burns connected them, after first live upright bass on a European tour. Giant Rub down moved to Tucson, Arizona in 1994.
